Project Description: The Hamilton County bridge over Geist Reservoir consists of a new superstructure. The enlarged bridge accommodates four-12 foot travel lanes separated by a raised four-foot concrete median and bordered by two-foot shoulders. A ten-foot multiuse path was constructed in each travel direction. A steel bridge rail guards the multiuse path from vehicular traffic and steel pedestrian hand rail was constructed along the outside of the multiuse path.
The existing concrete deck, railing, and piers were removed. Four existing piers were replaced with two new concrete piers providing increased horizontal clearance to reservoir traffic. The existing concrete abutments were widened by 50’-10” to accommodate the widened roadway section.
