In June, United Consulting hosted an on-site catered picnic to celebrate the E&B Paving / United Team’s selection by INDOT to perform services for the $143 million, design-build project which includes the modernization and major pavement reconstruction of 14 miles of I-65 between Exit 50 (US 50) and Exit 64 (SR 58). The picnic was so much fun the first time — United decided to do it again.

The second picnic, dubbed as the “Just Because We Can!” event, reflects the company’s culture of work hard, but like what you do and have fun doing it. The picnic also exemplifies United’s corporate appreciation towards employees.

Once again, employees donned their favorite picnic attire, brought their favorite outdoor games, and enjoyed another catered, cooked on-site picnic; but during the second picnic, another inaugural event was launched into the United record books, falling under the “Just for Fun” category — Cars and Coffee (C&C).

All United employees were eligible to participate in C&C. On the day of the picnic, each participant drove their favorite car, truck, or motorcycle to work and then shared the vehicle’s special story of what makes it so spectacular.  All cars were displayed in a prominent area reserved between the office and the picnic site for all to see and chat with the proud car buffs.

Picnic attendees were able to vote on their favorites for pre-designated categories and each category winner received a gift card prize.  Fourteen entries made their way into the first Annual C&C ranging from a brand new Tesla Model S to a beautiful 1961 Corvette to a 2017 Chevy Pickup.
