How Far Would You Walk for Bazbeaux Pizza?
It was a crisp, overcast, 45-degree day in May as United employees embarked on a three-mile trek during United’s 23rd Annual Employee Health & Fitness Day Walk. This year’s event took us to the Monon Trail in Carmel, a familiar project site to many United employees.
The walk began at Rohrer Road and headed north to the 146th Street bridge that was designed by United. Employees then turned around and walked south on the Monon through the Meridian Tunnel to the Greenford Trail, and onward to Meadowlark Park, where employees were greeted by a delicious picnic lunch of Bazbeaux pizza and salad. Those who were up for a little more exercise tossed around the frisbee, often exhibiting many individual styles of athletic prowess.
Of course, NO Health and Fitness Day at United would be complete without the much sought after Dairy Queen Dilly Bars, which arrived at the office right on cue!
and Fitness Day also included five drawings of five names throughout the day for a variety of gift cards to local restaurants and merchants. The big winner of the day was Kelly Cunningham who walked away with the coveted $50 VISA gift card in a final, separate drawing of the day.
Despite an occasional doggy doo-doo land mine and scattered sprinkles, Health and Fitness Day proved to be a welcomed change of pace from the “typical work day” for all who participated.
