Avon Avenue Bridge over CSX RR Groundbreaking
Avon, IN (February 11, 2017) – Avon Town Council members and other Hendricks County officials hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, February 11, for the Avon Avenue (SR 267) Bridge over CSX Railroad project which will alleviate congestion over the CSX Railroad, reconnecting the north and south sides of Avon through uninterrupted travel.
AVON AVENUE OVER CSX PROJECT FACTS:
- The project is located 0.3 miles south of the SR 267 (Avon Avenue) and US 36 (Rockville Road) intersection within the town of Avon.
- The project includes the reconstruction of Avon Avenue, new bridge construction over the existing CSX railway, new roundabout configuration at CR 25 S, and nearly 0.75 miles of new concrete pavement.
- Construction is expected to be completed within 15 months.
- Work will be performed under a full road closure. Work is expected to begin on February 27, 2017 .
